Educator Licenses
In accordance with R277-301-7(10)(a), Cache County School District employs educators who may hold the following types of Utah educator licenses, license areas, and/or endorsements:
-
Professional Licenses
A Professional Educator License is issued to an individual who has met all USBE requirements for preparation, content knowledge, pedagogy, and performance. This is the standard, full professional license.
- Associate Licenses
An Associate Educator License is a temporary license issued to an individual who is actively working toward the requirements for a Professional Educator License (such as completing an approved educator preparation program, demonstrating content knowledge, and/or passing required assessments).
- LEA-Specific Licenses, License Areas, or Endorsements
An LEA-Specific license, license area, or endorsement is requested by a local education agency for an individual to serve in a specific assignment when other licensing pathways are not reasonably available. LEA-Specific credentials are time-limited and require the LEA to provide a plan for the educator to move toward a Professional license or endorsement.
